DP William Ruto donates money at a past harambee

Kenyan Deputy President William Ruto who is now branded as an African Billionaire is reported to have bid to be an owner of the Leicester Football Club in a move that has gotten Kenyan tongues wagging.

According to a Nigerian blog , William Ruto and Nigerian tycoon Aliko Dangote had allegedly entered into a mutual agreement to partner and take over the Leicester club and share ownership on equal terms.

The blog further reports that the management of the club however rejected the duo’s bid on claims that they are of African descent.

“Africa’s Ruto and Dangote had partnered in an attempt to buy the club and share ownership on equal terms. Ruto had told of his plans to transform Leicester into a football giant in Europe and the entire world if given the opportunity to own it. The Leicester city management has however not welcomed the two insisting that the club owner should not be of African descent” reported the Naija blog

This follows shortly after Leicester’s club owner, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha passed on in a plane crash shortly after taking off the Leicester’s Kingpower Stadium.

In 2016, Dangote also attempted to buy English Premier League team, Arsenal, – a bid that could have made him the first African owner of a Premier League club if successful but never managed.
