Americans Warn of an impending Terror attack in
Rescue mission at Dusit Hotel Riverside following a terror attack in January.

The United States Embassy at Nairobi has issued a security alert for its citizens urging caution and increased vigilance when visiting certain public places.

In a notice circulated in its website and social media channels earlier this morning, the Embassy urged it’s citizens to continue to exercise heightened caution.

The notice said credible information indicated that Westerners may be targeted by extremists in Nairobi, Naivasha, Nanyuki, and coastal areas of Kenya.

This is the second security notice the embassy has issued in as many months. On January 18th, just three days after the DusitD2 terror attacks, the US Embassy posted a notice to remind the public of the continued need for vigilance in public spaces such as shopping malls, hotels, and places of worship.

Today’s security notice said possible locations of attacks in Kenya include Nairobi, Naivasha, Nanyuki, and coastal regions

The notice urged members of the public to be aware of their surroundings, and report suspicious activity to authorities immediately.

It further cautioned against visiting locations frequented by tourists/Westerners.
