The cancellation has left Kenyans debating on what the urgent state matters are prompting the president to issue a statement on evading the summit just a day before the kick off.
Kenya Live News can exclusively report that President Uhuru Kenyatta cancelled attending the important African Union Summit after consultation with Top security officials.
Tension In Jubilee
With rumors over looming impeachment motion prepared by the Jubilee wing allied to Deputy President William Ruto, the President was advised not to leave a vacuum at this critical time in Kenya.
If revelations by Senate Minority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen are to go by, disclosing that there are people are President Uhuru Kenyatta who have invested heavily to fight Deputy President William Ruto, then threats over Uhuru’s impeachment can’t be ignored.
Purge on Corruption
The Purge on Corruption has further divided jubilee deeply with cronies of Deputy President Ruto claiming that it is targeting their leader.
Kipchumba Murkomen said there is a team choreographing the purge targeting Ruto while using leaders like Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua to send a message.
He maintains that the group is mis-advising the president further driving a wedge between the two Jubilee top leadership.
He blames the President over lack of consultations unlike before on issues before declaring them publicly.
So deep is the division that Aladai MP Cornelly Serem dragged President Uhuru’s younger brother Muhoho Kenyatta into the importation of contraband sugar in an attempt to paint him as practicing double standards in the war on graft.
Majority Leader Aden Duale also dragged the Rai family in the sugar importation saga wondering how he made it to Kenya Forest Board yet he is the biggest logger in the country. This was seen as a direct attack on the Kenyatta family whose nexus with the Rai’s is in public domain.
With the deep divisions, the National Security Council advised the president to skip the African Union Summit.
President Uhuru has in many occasions told Politicians to focus on delivering to Kenyans instead of engaging in 2022 politics.
His statement has been ignored by several leaders in Jubilee who traverse the country with deputy president who has deployed all his arsenals in readiness for 2022 Presidential campaigns war chest.
The 2022 Politics has equally divided Jubilee with Kikuyu Council Of Elders recently telling DP Ruto to prepare for retiring in 2022 together with Uhuru as they shared the government equally.
Ruto has been marshaling troops to remind the people of central Kenya of the political debt they owe him in 2022, a debt which has so far been dismissed by powers that be from Mount Kenya.
With the complexity of the Political matrix brought about by the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga, it’s difficult to overrule an impeachment plan meant to destabilize the President.
It’s only safe for President Uhuru Kenyatta to be in the country for command and stability as the purge on corruption and delivery of the big four agenda goes on.
