NASA leader Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga this afternoon attended the inaugural CECAFA match between Kenya’s Harambee Stars versus Rwanda ‘Amavubi’ stars at the newly refurbished Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega County.
The match ended with Harambee stars defeating Rwanda 2-0. It was Hon Odinga first public engagement following Uhuru Kenyatta’s contentious inauguration on Tuesday this week.
After the pulsating game, Hon Odinga had a difficult time managing thousands football fans who blocked the road at Kakamega town and demanded he addresses them.
Yielding to public demand, Hon Odinga maintained that he will never back off nor will he leave this country in the hands of Uhuru abd his illegitimate regime.
Raila insisted that he will move forward without fear; “People have aright to choose their leaders, leadership cannot be imposed ” he explained. Raila further confirmed that since August 8, 2017, a total of 215 NASA supporters have been killed by the police without justification.
The NASA leader was accompanied by the Kakamega County Governor H.E. Wycliffe Oparanya, Kisumu county Deputy Governor. Dr. Ochieng Owili, Rarieda MP Otiende Amolo among other NASA legislators.
