Three members of parliament from western Kenya have blown a whistle on a cartel that is allegedly repackaging controversial contraband sugar in Mumias sugar company branded bags.

The MPs claim there is a scheme by unscrupulous traders To cripple Mumias sugar company by repackaging the controversial sugar that was imported last year and sell It to unsuspecting Kenyans.

The Mps, Busia Women Rep, Florence Mutua Nominated ANC MP Hon. Osotsi and Saboti MP Caleb Amisi recorded statements at Parklands DCI in the afternoon accompanied by Mumias Sugar Chairman and Company Lawyer.

They want the director of Criminal investigations to move with speed and arrest Suppliers of the suspected contraband sugar after Mumias Sugar Company confirmed the Sugar isn’t theirs.

The MPS have vowed they won’t rest until the dealers are brought to book for contributing to the fall of Mumias Sugar Company which hasn’t been producing sugar from April this year.
