NASA leader Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga has jeted into Kisumu County for a working tour that includes presiding over the official relocation of Kachok dumpsite at the initiative of the county government.
Kachok Dumpsite has been a long standing environmental hazard in Kisumu Town and that which Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o had promised to prioritize it’s relocation in line with a 10-point development plan he uneveiled during his campaigns.
Later in the day, Hon Raila Odinga is schedule to attend a routine KPL football match between champions Gor Mahia and Sony Sugar at Kisumu’s Moi Stadium.
The 2017 Sportpesa Kenya Premier League ends on today with Gor Mahia having bagged a record 16th league title a three weeks ago after they edged out Ulinzi Stars by a solitary goal in Kericho. The fete was achieved with four matches remaining to the end of the season.
The two events are Raila’s first public engagements after his arrival from the USA yesterday where he and his supporters were subjected to police confrontations who did not want him to address a rally at Nairobi’s Uhuru Park.
